First off, I must admit that I’m not use to posts of this nature, but here goes my attempt at bringing you commentary for the US version of Ellie Goulding’s “Starry Eyed” video. Since I shared with you my weakness for posts of this nature, I must also share with you my love for Ellie Goulding. Now before you laugh, have you seen her? Well if you’re familiar with her, then you know she’s just damn gorgeous and has a voice that will raise your hairs. This video is exactly how one, more particularly myself might envision how a date with Ms. Goulding and myself might take place.
Am I a huge fan of the mash-up? No. But can I appreciate when the mash-up is executed flawlessly? Absolutely and that’s what I love about thisHood Internet mix. It’s clearly chopped up but that really doesn’t do anything to degrade the song. Ms. Goulding’s smoky vocals from her track “Lights” come through nice and clear alongside a nicely accentual but melodically-biting string section. Give it a listen, I think it’s a head-nodder–jump and enjoy. (Thanks to Pigeons & Planes)
How do I feel about Mumford & Sons? Eh, mixed feelings. How do I feel about Ellie Goulding on the other hand? I sorta almost love her. I was a little bit skeptical about this track before I heard it, but I approve–the stripped down of the performance really helps to set her voice off. I think Ms. Goulding is going to be fairly relevant on the music scene for quite a while, so get used to hearing her–hit the jump to listen to “The Cave”. Enjoy. (Thanks to In Audio We Trust)
